Back in California

I finally made it, actually I should say "we" finally made it. Pinto has been great company and he loves California. We are in the mountains about 25 miles south of Big Bear Lake and an elevation of about 7000 feet. I will have to get used to the altitude, but it is good to be back.

I Have a Good Life

A lot has happened since my last post. I actually thought about deleting the last couple of posts, but decided against it. I wasn't exactly in a good place. I'm much better now and have reconnected with some good friends.

Getting Things Done

I'm working now on getting things done. When I'm away... a lot of things seem to fall by the wayside, so now I'm sticking close to home to take care of the little things. Vacuuming, cleaning, yardwork, etc., anyway that's what I'm up to now.

Flat Tires

I had a flat tire yesterday evening... two cans of "Fix-a-Flat" and no success so I had to have it plugged. Today I had another one on my way to drop off some bamboo. It could have been worse.

The Times They Are A Changin'

I looked into getting some young people signed up for one of the best basketball camps in the area today. The camps start Monday of next week and there are only 10 people signed up.

I see empty playgrounds and parks, I see empty tennis courts and basketball courts. Where is everyone? I guess they are all online, watching TV or playing organized sports. I fear that we are heading for future taken straight from the movie Wall-E.

Showing My Age

I'm starting to feel my age. I guess I shouldn't say I'm starting to feel it because I've been feeling my age for some time now, but now the aches and pains are "red alert". I have to keep a bottle of Aleve on standby. I can't complain, though... it's all a part of the process, the journey.

Asleep at the Wheel

I've been away for awhile with some distractions, but now I'm back... for the second time this year. Hopefully, I won't be gone for too long.

Going Home

Now, it's time to load the car and say bye-bye to the beach and hello to the three hour drive. This has been the BEST vacation, EVER!

Jet Skis

Went to the beach today and I thought I saw some fins in the water... we thought they were dolphins, but we later found out they were sharks. We didn't tell Dejah. After going to the beach for a couple of hours in the morning, we went over to the bay side and rented a pair jet skis. That was a lot of fun. Jess took Dejah with her and I was solo, but it was OK. Jessica went farther than she was supposed to because she is a rebel. When it was time to bring them back in, Jess' jet ski died and I had to carry Dejah with me, while Jessica rode in with the guy from the rental place. It was a lot of fun.

This is a great vacation.

Beach...

Today we did the same as yesterday, went to the beach and had a BLAST! Later we walked the boardwalk and rode a few rides. Another scorcher today, almost too hot.

Welcome to Seaside Park, NJ

The drive wasn't bad, it only took a couple of hours to get here. Day one at the beach. The waves are strong, but the water is warm and the condo is nice. We had a really good time down on the beach today. There's a nice boardwalk with lots of rides. Dejah and Jessica love it and that makes me happy.

Going to the Beach

Going on vacation tomorrow, with the family. I'm a little nervous, though. I've been to the beach before, I've even lived at the beach, but being there for seven days will be something completely different than what I'm used to. At least I'll be with my family, that makes anything good.

Time Passages

All these years, I've been watching people getting older... hair turning gray, lines appearing, male pattern baldness and more. It's only now though, that I start to realize... it's not just them. Time stands still for no one.

I TRIED

I tried to be a "Regular Joe", I really did. It wasn't for me. Now I am back to being, me.

American Idol

While I wasn't paying attention, someone got me hooked on American Idol. :(

Today

Today I am moving forward and following my dreams, not counting on promises that might be broken, but promising myself that I won't be broken. Moving forward, loving life and loving ones... ones that make me want to move forward. Ever reaching, ever growing, ever learning new things to make me a better person. Better for me, better for you... Better. I'm back.

Strength in Numbers... Family

Here is the video I was telling you about... but first let me warn you. There are hungry lions and at least one hungry crocodile in it and they are looking for a meal. Lions and crocodiles are both carnivores, so when they come across a water buffalo calf, they think they've found an easy meal. See what happens though, when a family of water buffalo stick together.

I am back home from Atlanta, and it's nice to be home. Now, time for some sleep.

Serendipity
